Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-09-10. Effective 2026-09-10.

The short version, at collection. When you submit the estimate form, Charlotte Roofing Quote sends your name, email address, property address, roof details, and your phone number if you provide one, to Eastern Oak Roofing LLC, an independent roofing contractor in Matthews, NC, so that company can contact you about your roof. Charlotte Roofing Quote is paid an advertising fee by that contractor. Under California law and some other state privacy laws, that transfer is a sale of personal information. You can opt out at any time on the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.

1. Who runs this site and how to reach us

BlackBelt AI Systems LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company doing business as Charlotte Roofing Quote ("we", "us", "our", or "Charlotte Roofing Quote"), operates this website. BlackBelt AI Systems LLC is the registered company behind the Charlotte Roofing Quote trade name, and is the party responsible for the commitments on this page.

This policy covers every page on this domain and the estimate form on it.

BlackBelt AI Systems LLC
Doing business as Charlotte Roofing Quote

Email: hello@charlotteroofingquote.com

This site does not publish a telephone number. Email is the contact channel for every privacy, legal, and opt out request, and a person reads that mailbox.

2. What this site is, so the rest of this policy makes sense

Charlotte Roofing Quote is an advertising and referral service. We are not a roofing contractor. We do not perform, supervise, bid, or contract for any roofing work, and we do not employ roofing crews. All roofing work is performed by an independent contractor who is solely responsible for their own licensing, insurance, workmanship, and warranties.

We are paid an advertising fee by the roofing contractor we refer you to. You pay us nothing. That fee does not change your price and does not depend on what you spend.

Two separate things happen here. The cost guides are published research, free to read, and require nothing from you. The estimate form is an advertising and lead referral service. Your information only leaves this site if you submit that form.

3. What information we collect

Information you give us

  • Your name.
  • Your email address.
  • Your telephone number, which is optional. You can get an estimate without one.
  • The property address of the roof, including the city and ZIP code.
  • Roof details: approximate home size, current roof material, approximate roof age, and what is going on with the roof, such as a leak, storm damage, age, or simple curiosity about price.
  • Anything you type into a free text field or send us by email.
  • Your consent record: which checkboxes you ticked, the exact wording shown to you, and the version identifier of that wording, currently 2026-09-10.1.

Information collected automatically when you use the site

  • IP address.
  • Browser type, user agent string, device type, and operating system.
  • The page you were on, the page that referred you, and the date and time.
  • Campaign parameters carried in the link you arrived on, such as UTM values, gclid, or fbclid.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for and do not want your Social Security number, driver license number, bank or card details, insurance policy number, claim number, health information, biometric data, or precise device GPS location. Please do not send any of it. We do not knowingly collect anything from a person under 18.

4. How we collect it

Three ways, and no others at this time.

  • You type it in. The estimate form, or an email you send us.
  • Ordinary web server logs. Serving a page records the request, which includes your IP address and user agent.
  • Strictly necessary browser storage. Used to keep the estimate tool working while you move through its steps and to remember your tracking preference.

There is no chat widget, no call tracking, no session replay, and no heatmap tool on this site. See section 11 for the full list of third party scripts, which is short.

5. Why we use it

  • To calculate and show you a cost estimate range from published market data.
  • To transmit your request to the independent roofing contractor named in section 6, so that contractor can contact you and prepare a real written estimate.
  • To answer you when you email us.
  • To keep proof of what you consented to, when, and in what words, which is what protects both you and us if there is ever a dispute about contact permission.
  • To detect spam, bot submissions, and abuse.
  • To measure, in aggregate, which pages and which advertising campaigns produce form submissions.
  • To meet legal obligations and to respond to lawful requests.

6. Who we disclose it to, and why that counts as a sale

The roofing contractor

When you submit the estimate form, we send the information you entered to Eastern Oak Roofing LLC, an independent roofing contractor. Charlotte Roofing Quote is paid an advertising fee by that contractor. Because we receive something of value in exchange for transferring your personal information, California law and several other state privacy laws treat this as a sale of personal information, and we say so plainly rather than hiding behind a narrower definition.

Eastern Oak Roofing LLC is the only company that receives your submission. We do not send it to a pool of contractors, a bidding exchange, or a lead aggregator. We do not resell it. We do not re-route an older submission to a different contractor later, because that contractor was never named to you and has no consent from you.

Service providers

We use vendors to run the site and deliver the form. They act on our written instructions, for the limited purpose we hired them for, and they are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing. The categories are website hosting, form and email delivery, and spam filtering. If we later add a customer relationship management platform, a text messaging provider, an analytics tool, or a lead certification provider, we will name it in this policy before it goes live.

Everyone else

We will disclose information if the law requires it, in response to valid legal process, to protect someone from harm, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to a successor entity in a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply until you are told otherwise.

We do not sell or share your information with data brokers, insurance marketers, solar companies, mortgage or refinance marketers, home warranty companies, or any advertising network.

7. Mobile information and SMS consent

Mobile information and SMS consent will not be shared with or sold to third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. The only company that receives your telephone number is the roofing contractor named in section 6, which is the specific company you were shown and agreed to hear from at the moment you submitted the form. Your SMS consent record travels with your request only as evidence that you gave permission. It is never sold, rented, licensed, or used to market anything for any other company.

Full details are on the SMS Terms page.

8. How long we keep it

  • Consent records, meaning the disclosure text you saw, your checkbox states, the timestamp, IP address, user agent, and page URL: five years. The federal statute of limitations for telephone consumer claims is four years, so five is the safe floor.
  • Lead records, meaning the contact and roof details you submitted: up to five years, then deleted or de-identified.
  • Web server logs: roughly twelve months.
  • Email you send us: up to three years.
  • Suppression records, meaning the minimum information needed to remember that you asked not to be contacted or asked to be deleted: kept indefinitely, because deleting them would defeat the purpose of the request.

9. How we protect it

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to a small business handling this kind of data. Pages and form submissions are served over encrypted connections. Access to lead records is limited to the people who need it. Vendors are held to confidentiality terms.

We will not overclaim. No website, no vendor, and no company can promise that data transmitted over the internet is perfectly secure, and we do not promise it.

10. Your choices and your rights

Stopping contact

  • Text messages: reply STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT to any message.
  • Phone calls: tell the caller to put you on their do not call list, or email us.
  • Email: use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email us.
  • Requests are honored within ten business days at the latest, and usually far sooner. Note that once your information has reached the roofing contractor, you may also need to tell that company directly, because it maintains its own contact lists.

Access, correction, deletion, and opt out

Regardless of which state you live in, you may ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and who we disclosed it to,
  • give you a copy of it,
  • correct anything that is wrong,
  • delete it,
  • stop selling or sharing it.

Use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information form, or email hello@charlotteroofingquote.com with the request and the email address or phone number you used. We will acknowledge within ten business days and respond within forty five days. If we need more time, we will tell you why and take up to another forty five days. We will never charge you for a request or treat you worse for making one.

An authorized agent may submit a request for you if you give them written permission and we can verify it. To protect you, we verify identity before acting on an access or deletion request, usually by matching the contact details you give us against the record we hold.

11. Cookies, tracking, and third party scripts

This site is deliberately light. As of 2026-09-10, the only third party script loaded on any page is Google Fonts, served from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com, which delivers the two typefaces the site uses. Loading a font file sends your IP address and browser information to Google. See Google's privacy policy.

As of the same date, this site runs no Google Analytics, no Google Ads remarketing tag, no Meta pixel, no TikTok pixel, no session replay or heatmap tool, and no chat widget. Nothing on this site transmits the contents of a form field to any advertising or analytics company. If that ever changes, this section will name the specific tool before it is switched on, and non essential trackers will be blocked until you accept them.

You can block or delete cookies and browser storage in your browser settings. The site works without them, though the estimate tool may forget your answers between steps.

12. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track

We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale and sharing of personal information from that browser, with no further action needed from you. Browsers also send an older Do Not Track header that never got an agreed meaning across the industry. We treat a Do Not Track header the same way we treat GPC.

13. Children

This site is directed to homeowners and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. We do not sell or share the personal information of anyone we know to be under 16. If you believe a minor gave us information, email hello@charlotteroofingquote.com and we will delete it.

14. California residents

This section applies if you live in California. It is written to satisfy the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act.

Why this section exists even though the service area is the Carolinas. A business that derives fifty percent or more of its annual revenue from selling or sharing consumers' personal information meets the CCPA definition of a business at any revenue level, with no dollar floor. That describes an advertising and lead referral model accurately, so we give California rights to anyone who asks rather than argue about whether we are technically covered.

Your California rights

  • Right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the sources, the business purpose, and the categories of third parties it went to.
  • Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions such as our need to keep a consent or suppression record.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Use the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or send a GPC signal.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We collect none, so there is nothing to limit.
  • Right to non discrimination. We will not deny you the cost guides, charge you anything, or degrade the site because you exercised a right. The one real consequence of opting out of sale is that we then cannot pass your request to a contractor, because passing it is the sale.

We have not sold or shared the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16. To exercise any right, use the opt out page or email hello@charlotteroofingquote.com.

15. Residents of other states

Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and a growing list of other states have comprehensive privacy laws with their own thresholds, and a metro specific site is unlikely to meet them. We are not going to make you research that. If you are a United States resident and you ask us to tell you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop selling it, we will do it, whichever state you live in. Some states also give you the right to appeal a refusal. If we ever refuse a request, our response will explain how to appeal it to us and how to complain to your state attorney general.

16. Data breach notification

If a security incident compromises personal information we hold, we will investigate, contain it, and give notice as required by the North Carolina Identity Theft Protection Act, N.C.G.S. 75-60 and following, and by South Carolina Code 39-1-90 for South Carolina residents. That includes notice to affected individuals without unreasonable delay and, where the law requires it, notice to the North Carolina Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. We maintain a written incident response plan for this.

17. Other websites, and the contractor's own privacy practices

This site links to outside sources, state license lookups, and manufacturer pages. We do not control them and we are not responsible for what they do with your information.

More important: once your submission has been transmitted to Eastern Oak Roofing LLC, that company holds it as an independent business and handles it under its own privacy policy, not this one. We are not responsible for its practices, its retention periods, or its contact behavior. Ask that company for its privacy policy, and direct any deletion or do not contact request to it as well as to us.

18. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top is the effective date, and material changes will be described here rather than slipped in quietly. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the updated policy. If a change would affect information we already hold about you, we will contact you before applying it where the law requires us to.
